Amisfield Pinot Noir 2016

Region - Central Otago, NEW ZEALAND.

Variety - Pinot Noir.

Style/palette - Medium bodied.

Cellaring - Drink now or until 2022.

Winemaking -  Hand-harvested fruit was cold-soaked for four to five days before the natural fermentation began. Gentle, selective timing of hand-plunging and some pulse air during fermentation helped to extract the delicate skin and seed tannins. Approximately 10% whole-bunch clusters were included in some of the ferments. After fermentation the wines were tasted daily,  to assess the tannin development. The wine was left on the skins extended time. Maturation was ten months in 20% tight-grain French oak.

Amisfield Pinot Noir 2016

"Deep, youthful red/purple colour, very bright and young for its age, and the bouquet reflects this with fresh black cherry and dark plum fruit - still quite young and primary. The palate is likewise bold and bright, firm and upright, with excellent structure and ample ripe tannins. Good balance, length and vibrancy." 92 Points, Huon Hooke, Gourmet Traveller.

  • Excellent Pinot Noir from the top Pinot region in New Zealand.
  • Richly flavoured with black cherries and ripe plums - subtle oak.
  • Fine, softly integrated tannins - this is a gorgeous Pinot Noir.
  • Convenient screw cap closure.
  • Delicious with pasta, roasted chicken or duck.
