Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Pierro ltc Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

Pierro LTC Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2017

'LTC' stands for the "Little touch of Chardonnay", used by the Pierro winemaker, to enhance what would have already been a stunning Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend from the Margaret River. This elegant white wine gets better every year and often sells out within months as a result. The 2015 has aromas of lemon and citrus while the palate is subtle and delicate, with a delicious tanginess. The finish is fresh and clean, due to the natural acidity of this style of wine. Great with cold cooked prawns, oysters or a grilled chicken salad.

Pierro LTC Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Region - Margaret River, WA.

Variety - Semillon (50%), Sauvignon Blanc (45%) and Chardonnay (5%).

Style/Palate - Dry, unoaked.

Cellaring Best now or will cellar for 3-4 years from release.

Winemaking - The wine was made by blending Sauvignon Blanc that had been fermeted in steel with portions of Semillon and Chardonnay, some of which had been fermeted in stainless steel while other portions were also fermemted in oak. Some of the portions of Semillon and Chardonny underwent malolactic fermentation and this shows in the complexity of this wine today, and as it ages.

"SSB with a little touch of chardonnay. Vibrantly crisp and intense, it also has a little touch of CO2 giving a sparkle to the finish." James Halliday, Wine Companion Magazine 2016, 95 points.

"It is a very harmonious wine, a platinum version of Margaret River's Classic Dry White, and can be enjoyed here and now for its array of gently tropical fruits, or in a few years time when the body of the wine will have been built. Drink to 2018."James Halliday, Wine Companion Magazine 2015, 94 points
