Le Chat Noir Grenache Mourvèdre Syrah 2017

The Daily Drop Panel was keen to taste the Le Chat Noir Grenache Mourvèdre Syrah, given that we have offered the Pinot Noir and the Pinot Gris from the same range for over 4 years. The Grenache Mourvedre Syrah is a classic, GSM red although in this case, it is actually a 'GMS' due to the percentages of each grape variety in the final blend. This is a gorgeous French wine to have on hand for any occasion, it represents such superb value.

Style/palette - Medium-bodied.

Cellaring - Drink now or until 2025.

Winemaking -   Hand-picked in the cool of the morning and delivered to small, open top fermenters with 20% bunch inclusion. Twice daily plunging ensured immense colour and firm tannin extraction. Nine months in used French oak barriques added even more structure to the wine and encouraged bright fruit, ripe skin tannins and additional flavours.

Le Chat Noir Grenache Mourvèdre Syrah 2017

"This blend is a modern take on a French tradition. The nose offers concentrated berry fruit. It's so smooth and full in the mouth that a bottle disappears with indecent haste. Easy drinking, yet with real personality." 90 Points, Raph Kyte-Powell, Good Food, Sydney Morning Herald, 2018.
