Chateau Riotor Provence Rose
Min. Quantity: 3
Some of the world's best Rosé wines are made in Provence and the Chateau Riotor is no exception. The colour is a pale, salmon pink and the wine is light, dry and elegant, all classic-Provence characteristics. The wine shows aromas of strawberry, elderflower, redcurrant and raspberry. Fresh acidity gives this wine a lovely, long finish. Perfectly suited to warmer climates around the world, as well as the South of France, it is little wonder that this wine is finding such a ready and accepting home all around Australia. Ideal with olives, soft cheese, grilled seafood or on its own. A wine you will be proud to share.
Expert Reviews & Awards
"”Pale brilliant pink. Lively, mineral-accented orange zest, strawberry and floral scents show very good clarity and pick up a spicy nuance with aeration. Nicely concentrated yet lively on the palate, offering incisive red berry, blood orange and floral pastille flavors underscored by a dusty mineral quality. Shows sharp delineation and cut on the finish, which hangs on with strong tenacity.” 91 points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media, August 2019

Made from 60% Grenache, 25% Cinsault, 8% Syrah, 7% Carignan. The grapes were pressed in pneumatic presses before undergoing a short period of skin contact to ensure a pale and bright hue, as well as an intense aromatic expression. In order to preserve the natural acidity and freshness of the wine’s aromas, the wine did not go through malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged on fine lees in tanks for 3 months before bottling in January/February of the year following harvest
Made from 40% Grenache, 50% Cinsault, 7% Syrah and 3% Vermentino. Farmed and made by the owners of Chateau Mont-Redon from Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The blend was aged in temperature controlled stainless steel to keep the freshness and fruit aromas in the blend. The winery is fully temperature controlled which has enabled a sharp increase in the quality over the last few years.

This beautifully sited property is located in the prime Massif des Maures region where wonderfully fresh and typical rose and red wines are produced. Owned for four generations by the Abeille family (of the famed Chateau Mont-Redon in Chateauneuf-du-Pape) the property has been totally renovated since 1988 in the vineyards, the Chateau and also the winemaking facility. The winery is now fully temperature controlled and equipped with the latest winemaking equipment which has enabled a dramatic increase in quality in the last few years. The vineyard is planted with the classic varieties for the region of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah together with a little Rolle (Vermentino) which is blended into the delicately coloured and very fragrant, rose. Both the rose and red wines are aged in temperature controlled stainless steel to keep the freshness of both the aromas and the fruit so typical of the wines of this region. These are wines made to drink for their freshness and they are perfectly suited to warmer climates like Provence and the coastal regions of Australia. Little wonder that these wines are finding such a ready and accepting home all around Australia.
