'The Wizard' Pinot Noir from Holm Oak is a beautiful, more structured style of Pinot noir. The complex and fragrant nose shows dark cherry and plum fruit characters, with some attractive spice and earthy characters. The palate is firm and savoury, as a result of the whole bunch fermentation and new oak but this wine has lovely dark fruit characters which will continue to open up over time. Superb with venison or roast duck.

"Complex spiced cherry and red plum notes with hints of forest floor, spice, mountain herbs, wildflowers, veal glaze, raspberry coulis and turned earth. Bright and detailed on the palate with a complex, lightly gamey flow across the tongue. Fine, chalky tannins, light oak spice and lacy acidity complete the picture as the wine fades slowly with a wake of spiced red and dark cherry fruits." 95 points (On the 2021 vintage.)
