Juniper Crossing's 'The Original Red' Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend, is grown and made in the Margaret River, a region known for producing beautiful, fruit driven Cabernet Sauvignon and, Cabernet Merlot blends. The palate is full of juicy raspberry, cherry, red and black currants flavours with smooth long fine tannins and a very satisfying finish. This wine is all about the fruit, which makes it very approachable now although it has the structure to age for 5 to 10 years. 'The Original Red' is superb with lamb fillet or a roast leg of lamb with garlic and herbs.

Juniper Estate is one of the oldest vineyards in the Margaret River Region with Shiraz & Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1973. The dry-grown vineyard is planted on the Wilyabrup gravely loam which has produced so many of the Margaret River wines which now command Australia-wide & International recognition. The Margaret River produces outstanding Chardonnay, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc as well as Bordeaux style red blends made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Located 200 kilometres south of Perth, the Margaret River has a warm maritime climate. This results in grapes that have concentrated fruit aromas and flavours while still retaining high levels of acidity, due to the cooling ocean breezes. This also allows the Margaret River to offer fresh, elegant and restrained wines as well as full-bodied and powerful wines.
