The Oakridge Henk Vineyard Pinot was grown and made in Coldstream, in the Yarra Valley, a region known for producing outstanding Pinot Noir. Showing classic Pinot Noir aromas and flavours of red cherry, strawberry, plums and dark cherries. Ripe, soft tannins and a fine acid backbone give this wine a beautiful balance. It is easy to see why Pinot Noir is such a specialty for the Yarra Valley. The Oakridge Henk Vineyard Pinot would pair well with Peking duck or beef burgundy.

Winemaking Notes
A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine – 85% whole berry fermentation with 15% whole bunch inclusion in open vessels for two weeks followed by a 10 month maturation in French oak barrels.

Established in 1978, Oakridge has grown to become an internationally recognised producer of award-winning wines and must-visit Yarra Valley destination. As a pioneer of the wine growing region of the upper Yarra Valley, Oakridge is known for producing distinctive single-vineyard wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. Today, Oakridge is still a family owned company, supported by the Atlas/D’Aloisio family since 2007. Chief Winemaker, David Bicknell has led the winemaking team since 2002.

Pinot Noir is specialty of the Yarra Valley wine region, along with high quality Sparkling wines, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Located to the north east of Melbourne, the Yarra Valley is a large and diverse region, geographically. This enables wine to be made in variety of wine styles although, the Pinot Noir is distinctively rich in in fruit flavours such as strawberries and dark cherries with ripe, soft tannins. Overall, the Yarra Valley has a cool to moderate, maritime climate that results in elegant and restrained wines.
