Min. Quantity: 1
Pol Roger Brut Reserve displays a beautiful golden straw coloured hue, as well as abundant and fine bubbles. The structure and vinosity, elegance and freshness, captured in this Brut Reserve offer an optimum balance between power and finesse, making it a remarkable wine to be served as an aperitif, or to accompany a whole meal. With a powerful and attractive nose, it delivers aromas of fruit, pear and mango, and then releases light flavours of honeysuckle and white jasmine, vanilla and brioche notes. The palate features flavours of cooked fruit, quince jelly and apricot jam, that mingle with fragrances of beeswax and acacia honey. The long-lasting aromas, that combine fruity and spicy notes are outstanding
Winemaking Notes
Once harvested, the grapes were immediately and delicately pressed. The must undergoes a first débourbage (settling) at the press house and a second in our winery, à froid (at 6°C) over a 24 hour period. The alcoholic fermentation takes place at a low temperature (18°C) in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with each variety and the production of each village kept separate until final blending. All Pol Roger wines go through a malolactic fermentation. After tasting, blending and bottling, the secondary fermentation (prise de mousse) and maturing take place in the cool atmosphere of our cellars located 33 metres below street level. Each bottle is given a traditional remuage (hand riddling) before disgorging and dosage, and the wines rest for a minimum of three months before being released.

Champagne is the most prestigious sparkling wine in the world. Associated with luxury, decadence and style, Champagne is also a celebratory drink, for any occasion or even to mark the end of the week! There is only one appellation in the famous Champagne region, Champagne AC. A French sparkling wine that is grown outside of the Champagne appellation is not Champagne. The three main grape varieties that are used in the production of Champagne are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier. Non vintage Champagnes must be aged for a minimum of 15 months, including 12 months on lees. Vintage wines must be aged for a minimum of 36 months.
Region
About Champagne
The Champagne wine region is the closest wine region to Paris and the home of one of the world's most prestigious sparkling wines, Champagne. Champagne has a cool, continental climate that keeps the sugar levels in the grapes very low as well as keeping acid levels in the grapes quite high. This is why Champagne is ideal for sparkling wine production. In addition, the soils in Champagne are chalky, which enables good drainage and good water retention, depending on the seasons. The three most well known sub regions of Champagne are; Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and the Côte de Blanc. The three grapes varieties that are used in Champagne wine making are; Chardonnay (which provides acidity, floral and citrus characters), Pinot Noir (which provides the structural backbone and red fruit character) and Pinot Meunier (which provides lively fruit flavours). Champagne must be made in the traditional method, whereby the grapes are handpicked. Non-vintage wines must be aged for 15 months, including 12 months on lees. Vintage wines must be aged for 36 months. Vintage Champagne is only made in the best years whereas non-vintage Champagne is blend of the best wines from each year.
