Head Wines Rose Grenache Rose

Head Wines Rosé 2017

The nose shows pink grapefruit and strawberries. The palate shows delicate stone fruits with citrus and a dry mineral finish. Perfect on its own or with seafood.

Head Wines Rosé 2017

Region - Barossa Valley.

Variety - Grenache and Viognier.

Style/Palate - Dry.

Cellaring - Best now while fresh or within 2 years.

Winemaking - Hand harvested from a single vineyard. The Head Rosé is made in a  ‘Vin Gris’ style, which is when red grapes are used to make white wines by reducing or eliminating contact with the skins. Winemaker Alex Head also allowed a cool, natural fermentation to build dryness. He also added 10% barrel fermented Viognier from Eden Valley to encourage texture and perceived sweetness. Dry, delicate and edging even closer to a provencal style Rosé.

Head Wines Rosé 2017

"Vivid fuchsia; a classy wine, made with skill and a certain amount of discipline; it has immaculate balance and length, with cherry and a touch of nougat - the latter not challenging the red cherry/raspberry fruit." James Halliday, The Wine Companion 2014, 94 Points (on the 2013 Vintage).
