Robert Oatley Signature Series Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Oatley Signature Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

The Daily Drop panel has a soft spot for Margaret River Cabernet due to the fine structure of the fruit and the tannins. This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon at a fantastic price.

Robert Oatley Signature Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Region - Margaret River, WA.

Variety - Cabernet Sauvignon.

Style/Palate - Oaked, medium- bodied.

Cellaring - 10-12 years from release.

Winemaking - Grapes from the northern end of Margaret River, primarily around Wilyabrup, were harvested at ideal flavour and tannin ripeness, fermented then matured for ten to twelve months in French oak from a variety of coopers. A very good growing season has helped deliver well-balanced wines that will develop gracefully in bottle.

Robert Oatley Signature Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

"Includes 14% merlot, machine-harvested, open and closed fermentation, cultured yeast, 5-7 days post-ferment maceration, matured in new and used French oak for 115 months. There's a lot of style and authenticity to the cabernet fruit, stopping just short of autocratic and unbending; the tannins are firm, but not the least dry, and the French oak is positive. Bargain." 93 Points James Halliday, The Wine Companion 2016.
