Based at the Southern end of the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Great food and wine is best shared, this is the central philosophy at Lou Miranda Estate. Named after their father Lou Miranda, the daughters, Lisa, Angela and Victoria run the family boutique Barossa vineyards, winery and cellar door. They have the same charming devotion to good old-fashioned Italian hospitality as their father Lou, who is still proudly involved in the business. All of their wines are produced from the Estate owned vineyards, spanning 100 acres are on four sites, located at a maximum of 8 kilometres from the winery. The Miranda family consider themselves the privileged custodians of four centenarian old vine blocks in Southern Barossa Valley, the oldest dating back to 1897. Their dedication to vineyard management is carried through from barrel to bottle. The history of the Miranda family winemaking business started when their Nonno, Francesco ‘Pop’ Miranda came to Australia in 1938. The one thing he knew from his Southern Italian upbringing was that good wine was as important as a loving family and close friends. He arrived in Griffith, New South Wales and set about building his dream. His son Lou and wife Val spent a lifetime building on Pop’s passion while adding his own unique style. They have now passed the business onto their daughters, with their own individual skills each contribute to the winery in their varying fields. The family are very proud to be working together today, crafting the wines that express the premium quality of the land.
