Champagne Jacquart has a sophisticated house style which is dry, textured and balanced. It is an excellent aperitif or accompaniment to fine hors-d’oeuvres. The Brut Mosaique, Champagne Jacquart’s non-vintage release in its house style, is a pale yellow colour with tints of white gold and a stream of fine bubble. Showing aromas of fresh pear, fig and almond, with hints of orange flower along with richer notes of honey and freshly baked bread. The palate shows and abundance of fresh green apple hints, citrus minerality and brioche. Long and fruity finish. Superb. The Magnum is beautifully labelled and ideal for events and gifting.
Winemaking Notes
A blend where Chardonnay is the dominant grape variety (35%-40%), giving Brut Mosaïque its freshness and delicate aromas. Pinot Noir (35%-40%) adds structure and Pinot Meunier (25% -30%) brings fruit. The grapes are sourced from exceptional terroirs, including the Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. The presence of 20% reserve wine ensures a consistent style, while more than three years ageing and a light dosage of 10g/l result in a balanced and complex champagne.

The house of Jacquart was established in 1964 as a Chardonnay-growers co-operative. Today, it is the largest grower-producer in Champagne, with 100% of the fruit grown by the owners. Closely linked to the terroir, the wines represent a fascinating bridge between the smaller family estates and the larger Champagne houses – the Grands Marques. All cuvées are Chardonnay dominant. This in turn requires longer ageing (3.5 years) than the Pinot Noir -based marques (18 months), and as a result Jacquart has a very refined mousse. The Chardonnay also contributes to a dry aperitif style, refreshing wine. What’s in a name? The Cellar at the Jacquart Maison is adorned with a map of the 1,400 vineyards contributing to Champagne Jacquart. These are colour coded by variety, sub district, cru and soil type, all of which create a ‘mosaic’ that is brought to life in the Brut Mosaique.

The Champagne wine region is the closest wine region to Paris and the home of one of the world's most prestigious sparkling wines, Champagne. Champagne has a cool, continental climate that keeps the sugar levels in the grapes very low as well as keeping acid levels in the grapes quite high. This is why Champagne is ideal for sparkling wine production. In addition, the soils in Champagne are chalky, which enables good drainage and good water retention, depending on the seasons. The three most well known sub regions of Champagne are; Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and the Côte de Blanc. The three grapes varieties that are used in Champagne wine making are; Chardonnay (which provides acidity, floral and citrus characters), Pinot Noir (which provides the structural backbone and red fruit character) and Pinot Meunier (which provides lively fruit flavours). Champagne must be made in the traditional method, whereby the grapes are handpicked. Non-vintage wines must be aged for 15 months, including 12 months on lees. Vintage wines must be aged for 36 months. Vintage Champagne is only made in the best years whereas non-vintage Champagne is blend of the best wines from each year.
