The Matanzas Creek Alexander Valley Chardonnay is grown in the mountains of the Alexander Valley, where volcanic soils and fog influences produce grapes with a rich complexity. Enticing aromas of grilled peach and lemon zest intertwine with beautiful notes of chamomile and toasted hazelnuts. This exuberant fruit is mirrored on the palate where a distinctive minerality compliments the rich and generous mouthfeel. This outstanding Chardonnay would be perfect with pan seared scallops, grilled salmon or a roasted vegetable salad
Alexander Valley has a fog intrusion from the Pacific Ocean, that helps to mitigate the heat and allows the
grapes to grow and develop flavors slowly. This long, broad north to south valley is flanked by the
Mayacama Mountains. The diversity of topography and fog conditions in the valley, create different
mesoclimates that produce differences in texture and flavors across the vineyards. After alcoholic fermentation was concluded, due to native fermentations, the barrels were allowed to go through malolactic fermentation and continued their aging on lees. Barrels were stirred monthly, helping to build a creamy texture and delicious aromas.

Throughout the years, their methodology has remained the same: utilize a range of vineyard clones and fermentation vessels, and explore new farming and winemaking techniques, to produce thoughtfully crafted, expressive, and balanced wines. Key Facts About Chardonnay Chardonnay’s spiritual homeland is Burgundy in France, although there is evidence that links it back to Lebanon in the Middle East.
