Marlborough

Filter

Marlborough is a majestic wine region, located on New Zealand’s South Island. Sauvignon Blanc is the main grape variety, along with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Riesling. Most of the Marlborough vineyards are planted in either the Wairau Valley or the Awatere Valley. Sauvignon Blanc from the Awatere Valley is distinctly herbaceous and has a higher acidity, due to the cooler climate in this valley. Pinot Noir from Marlborough is medium bodied with flavours of cranberry and ripe cherry.
