The '150+1 Barbera' from Casali del Barone is showing an intense ruby red color and floral aromas, along with deep, ripe red fruit nuances. Barbera is known for having deep colour, full body, low tannins and high acidity. Acidity in wine causes a mouth watering effect, which is why Barbera wines are often described as being 'juicy'. The '150 + 1' is definitely full-bodied and round, showing all the classic Barbera aromas and flavours of raspberry, cherry, blackberry, plum, coffee beans and dark chocolate. The finish is persistent with a slightly spicy aftertaste. Totally delicious and very memorable. Ideal with charcuterie, creamy risotto or pasta in mushroom, cream or tomato sauces. Barbera is considered the 'every day wine' so it is also perfect with your favourite pizza!
